Big 4 Australian Retail Bank – Managing the BEAR
The Royal Commission into Financial Services and APRA’s Prudential Inquiry into CBA demonstrated the heightened focus on accountability in Australian banking.
In February 2018, Australia introduced the BEAR to establish clear and enhanced expectations of accountability for authorised deposit-taking institutions (ADIs), their directors and senior executives. BEAR ensures there are clear consequences in the event of a material failure to meet those expectations.
In 2018, b5 Consulting successfully developed and implemented a new management system at a Big 4 Retail Bank to manage the BEAR and the accountabilities of the Group Executive and leadership team.
